Wonderful story! What a moment that must have been in that courtroom. Not a dry eye in the house - well maybe except for the DA’s eyes, which probably had a very different expression.

IDK, maybe most people are shopping on Black Friday because that’s the only time they can, since more of their income is going toward essentials to survive: shelter, food, heat, transportation. It’s a privilege to be able to boycott and shop local. The system is rigged that way.

Seems a little extreme, but I get it. And don’t ask me for favorite pet names either - says I to people wanting fun facts. I’m not going to hand over my universal password that easily.

Say it as much as you want, it’s simplistic reasoning. IMO, the fact that 36% of eligible voters didn’t vote in 2024 is damning evidence for claiming why we’re in this mess. Yes, we should have believed all the women, but their stories don’t also carry the burden of why our government is criminal.

That appears to be the main negotiation talking point for the 10 democrats thinking of voting to end the shutdown. It seems like they’re looking for some relief - any relief - for the people directly suffering. It’s a slippery slope negotiating with the devil though. No matter what, we will suffer
