Many people mentioned that Base UI composition style is similar to Ariakit, so this does seem to be the common knowledge 🙂

> recreate the internal state logic so many times

What kind of internal state logic? (I might guess because this rings a bell for me too, but curious to hear you unbiased)

> and nesting portaled stuff is annoying, should be automatic

What’s an example?

Looks incredible! You will spend years if not decades around it, that’s so cool

Long-term, Base UI will be complete with many more components.

Everything else follows: expect the same meticulous attention to the API, DX, accessibility, and performance.

We are also getting a chance to revisit what we all learned from building and using Radix, correcting some of the mistakes that haven’t had a chance to get fixed.

The most important one is that behind Base UI there is a team that’s going to keep working on it full time, and the goals of the project and the business behind it are aligned long-term.

Actual free fall distance-time curve is slightly parabolic at first and becomes linear quite fast

I find that curves like this work well for any animation when an object fully exits the screen.

For animations like this, different curves for the enter and the exit animation may feel better.

This one exhibits some initial resistance when the sheet is pulled up, but is in free fall when it goes down

Wow, the compression on this site is ridiculous. Is there no way to upload a hi-res video?

Thought I’d share some of my UI work here but there’s no point if it all looks like pixelated smudge.

This feels about right

Feels good!

I’ve been using the alpha on a couple projects and how these values work is one my favourite parts of v4.
