I thought that Nvidia production is oversubscribed so they can withstand loss of some customers up to the point that the most of the AI industry collapses, which is more of a tail end scenario that this one.

To continue one step further, the rent to own cost ratio in SF is lower than almost everywhere else. This creates an incentive to keep renting and tilts the statistic to make renting look more affordable since you go higher in the income distribution before people filter out by buying.

We have a saying: "Everyone is an expert when it comes to soccer and politics". Both these areas of punditry somehow fit with your definition.

Dan Wang was on Odd Lots recently, I believe a lot more than a dozen people have the necessary context for this tweet.

It depends on whether you need to add the opportunity cost of labor on top of the productivity gains and whether the overall gain is only justified at the earning levels of men. My feeling is that you can easily find alternatives where the productivity gain is the only factor needed.

That being said, the rare few times I wanted a steak au poivre I ended up making it for a third of the restaurant price at home. And even more so when adding a glass of wine.

I believe I understand her point, which is that we are swapping highly paid labor for much lower paid one. My point is that due to the productivity increases, we are not swapping them in equal hourly amounts.

Again, let’s equalize all incomes for the sake of the argument. It is a more resource efficient model than having every customer drive to the store and cook the same food individually.

I recognize that food service workers are being paid less than me but even if we were paid an equal amount for our work the division of labor where they mass produce food and I keep doing my own line of work would be more efficient than taking the task myself.

Without being disrespectful, isn’t the argument for division of labor and specialization as old as Adam Smith’s pin factory example?

Whole Foods will deliver to your doorstep for something like $120 a year. With that out of the way Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey are good options at the beach. If you are fine with inland then Culver City, Mar Vista, Hollywood and Silver Lake are worth considering.
