In New Super Mario Bros., Mario cannot use a Mega Mushroom in Toad Houses. Assuming the Mega Mario form in these locations reveals that the special Question Blocks cannot be destroyed by it, and instead create a very peculiar infinite particle effect.

I archival scanned this 1992 CYOA gamebook for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It has some incredible illustrations in it by Shinpei Ito. All the illustrations he did for books in the Zelda series are gorgeous, honestly. Find the scans here: archive.org/details/zeld...

In the 1986 Ranmaru LoZ Zelda manga Link died and was in a nightmare where he was falling into the void. Zelda reached out to him and pulled him back. I love the imagery coupled with the old and newer art from Tears of the Kingdom.
