Voters don’t agree, I’m afraid. Ipsos polling has economic confidence at lowest since records began in 1978 & there is a more general sense everything is getting worse.

He simply can’t engage with the facts. The law was always against them, they were told the would need to campaign for a change & win on that basis, & that would mean convincing a public who disagree with them, even Remain & Labour voters. It would be sad to witness if he wasn’t so repellent.

Carmine has begun the day by ingesting a coffee bean then having to de-ingest expensively it at the vets. Fortunately he’s now back home & everyone’s heart rates can return to normal.

I’m all for cracking down on waste & we should be careful with every penny of tax payers money but Guido’s ‘scoop’ on the new civil service training contract is nonsense. £570m for workforce of over 500k is only just over £1k/FTE, we want trained civil servants & it’s tiny fraction of govt spend

There’s no support in any age group, region, social grade or party polled for self ID, use of puberty blockers or hormones in under 16s, trans women in women’s changing rooms or trans women in women’s sport. It’s wholly inaccurate to paint those who object to these things as extremist outliers

This isn’t correct. There was of course division on Twitter, there will be on all open access social media platforms, but the splitting of platforms has created new dividing lines as users become tribal about the platforms themselves. It’s a new source of conflict.

With all UK news media constantly referring to Agam Berger as a “soldier” it would be easy to miss the reality that she was barely more than a child who was in the first few days of her mandated national service as an unarmed ‘observer soldier’ when she was kidnapped by Hamas

Agam was dressed in fake uniform, as the other girls had been, & made to hold a certificate & ‘goodie bag’ while flanked by masked terrorists at the handover ‘ceremony, apparently stage managed by an Al Jazeera journalist who is embedded with Hamas

Was asked what I’d do differently if I was Starmer & my answer is communicate better as I think a significant element of his unpopularity comes from mismatch between word & deed. It’s not good having “liar” writ so large. Could change rhetoric to match policies or change policies to match rhetoric.

Worth taking a look at the IHRA definition of antisemitism & considering how many different breaches you saw on Holocaust Memorial Day & the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Too many to count.

This is such insanity. Overwhelming majority of those freed by Israel have been tried & convicted & many are mass murderers. Few have been subject to administrative detention & among those are those with previous convictions for terrorism. None are “hostages”
