Move out of the kernel and rely on Windows? I feel like it’ll be the same as it is now and just continue to be all of it together.

That’s not an excuse for the AI slop mind you. There’s just not some demand for them to use it from the top. It’s Activision being lazy and sloppy with filler shit nobody cares about.

They’ve been doing it ahead of them becoming part of Microsoft like with MWIII which was a week or whatever after the deal closed. They have no mandate to use AI, Activision’s been choosing to do it.

It can only be called indie if it is from the region of itch.io

I believe it’s using some more recent C# features. it’s doing:

Check if Point[x,y] is not null. If not null, get the pos value from it. That’s the ? at work.

Otherwise, if it is null, use default.

?? Is like a ternary shorthand kind of but for null values. Instead of if (x == null) then y

Don’t think the PlayStation side is all that relevant in the equation.

SteamOS’s major hurdle, especially for console players shifting to PC possibly, is live service anti-cheat enabled games not being playable. No Valorant, no BF6, etc.

A Windows Console will still offer all that including PS

This is better in the sequel I would say.

And imo having companions with separate motivations/backgrounds not AS directly tied to the main plot feels more natural and less contrived (to a degree).

My favorite cover of theirs so far.

I know Unreal is a performance hog and can always be improved, but it can’t be overstated how much better it is to have fully dynamic lighting. For developers and for immersion/the experience as players. Keeper’s artistic execution simply wouldn’t have been the same without it. Great work, Lee & co

Similar to a Pentiment in many ways, but suffers a bit with pacing due to the exploratory backtracking nature.

I managed to complete all mysteries and save everyone with ample time to spare. Great cast of characters and historical/mythological plot.

Not head over heels with it but recommended.

(And to be clear, I think critiquing art such as games in the context of the times they are made in perfectly fair. A reviewer can bring it up to color their experience and interpretations.

The VGC TOW2 review was totally fair and not “docking points” like some made it out to be.)

Also, nobody had this much to say or to defend against with The Outer Worlds 2 and criticisms with its narrative and real world Microsoft, which is even less “fair” against the game as its own product/piece of work.

The problem is review SCORES are nonsense.
