Got emotional today. I've known for quite a while how much living on an island has shaped my identity. Whenever I move away from my roots it's also away from the sea. Even though I've had other bodies of water, it just doesn't compare to the waves, being able to look the horizon and just see water

Finished an old WIP this week!
I'm happy how easily this came together and can't wait to test it out and style it come summer. The stripes lined up nicely and there was enough fabric for a pocket 😚

You know how sometimes something goes wrong in a project or it just somehow complicates itself till you just want to take a break from it?
That was this skirt, and I already dislike making skirts. But today I felt curious to work on it and see what the fuss was about. Nothing too big, really 🤷♂️✨

Both sides are now done and I also finished one armhole.
I'll leave the neckline and hem till I have his trousers so I can see how much fabric I can repurpose there.
The side triangles weren't planned to line up, so I'm happy the other side got this close to perfect on accident

Progress on #Joxter
I've procrastinated to some degree with the side seams. I wanted to add pocked slits instead of regular ones in case they'd pull on the hem, but I was a bit skittish on actually sewing them. Turned out that facing the task one step at a time worked here as well and wasn't as bad.

Progress on #Joxter

Still need to turn the armhole allowances but that's probably after the sides are done. But the cuffs are now finished! The salvage on this fabric is really neat so I'm using it to my advantage whenever I can #Joxter #MoominCosplay
