Been practising scoring pretty images into my sourdough. I'm not very good at it, but tried a leaf. A little small, but it was my first attempt.

I celebrated my birthday this week! I took the day off and enjoyed a walk around Salisbury reading and buying books for myself. Two cafes had free cake birthday offers, so I had to swing by both.

Going through some survey responses at a cafe today. Was really aching for a pumpkin spice latte, because I am basic above all other things.

This just cracked me up.

In answer to how a participant of my survey found Taylor Swift's music, they found her through the goat meme of "I Knew You Were Trouble". I laughed actually out loud when I read that, how great.

Nice little writing day at a cafe I haven't been to for some time. Wrote a nice amount, and this novel is changing incredibly quickly with each writing session - in a good way, I hope.

Love starting a new book

Another writing session at a cafe. The draft of Project Submarine is going well, and I'm getting excited every time I sit down to work on another chapter. I keep coming up with new ideas and new ways of expressing things, and it makes me feel just so happy to be writing.

It's currently my reset week, my time between quarters to rest and reset myself for the quarter to come. But I can't stop writing - my mind just won't let me. In honor of my old project, I had a Caramel Latte while I did my writing today.

Spent a bit of the morning at one of my typical cafes with a caramel latte, cream topping, and a blondie. And, of course, a bit of writing work. Video essay was the topic for the day, as I wrote up the script for the next video for Incidental Mythology.

Enjoying the very first pumpkin spice latte of the autumn season! And doing it while writing a submarine ghost story - getting close to Spooky Season

After recording the chat episode of Fan of That podcast, I was inspired to do some of Taylor Swift research while rewatching the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. Did I think researching the Slender Man would ever lead me to this collection of booktok girly interests? I did not. But I'm enjoying it!

May have been very randomly inspired for a video essay, so guess what I'm doing instead of literally everything else?

Been awhile since I posted one of my journal spreads. I've been rather lazy with them. But this month accidentally turned out really fun! It was supposed to be another super lazy one, but I'm actually really proud of September - and the beginning of autumn vibes are definitely coming through.

New books for fiction research. Have I mentioned Project Submarine is part horror? Love me some ghosts.

Another round of writing on Project Submarine. So far, the words are flowing fast and easy - let's hope the luck stays with us. I just passed 13000 words, and have passed the end of Act 1! Accompanying me today was a latte and a cinnamon cookie

The background research on Taylor Swift studies has been so much fun to dig into. I have so much more to go, but am loving beginning to slowly find my own place in such a discipline. Hope y'all will have me!

Its been awhile since I've read an urban fantasy that wasn't also a detective story, so was glad this was my most recent foray, as it's gotten me excited about other options. On top of that, the cast is interesting, dynamic, and unique, all while feeling right at home in such a familiar genre.

I broke the surface tension, and finally began writing on my new novel, which I'm calling Project Submarine. It's a dark academia meets steampunk mystery horror novel and I'm really excited about the first couple thousand words.

Tried my hand at some soudough bagels recently. They tasted amazing - topped with a bit of poppyseed. But I did end up getting quite frustrated while trying to form one of them that it ended with dough in the bin. So made seven rather than eight, but - hey - such is the life of a baker.

The plotting of the new novel, Project Submarine, continues. Did some with a matcha latte and a biscoff cheesecake, cause - you know - can't really do writing work without sweets.

A Gail's recently opened up here in Salisbury, so of course I had to give it a go. Treated myself to a cinnamon and pecan crumb cake and a latte while I typed up a script for the next Incidental Mythology video essay.

I recently had to cut down my very large monsteras. I have three and a half leaves left, which grew some beautiful roots. I just repotted them into soil. While I'm a little disheartened they aren't as massive, I'm also so pleased to see them doing much better now that I know what I'm doing.
