There are definitely some journals and conferences that insist on this kind of quant-lite status for qual research. I guess as long as you can progress your work, it’s harmless enough. I’ll stick with grounded theory until I find something better ^_^

It sounds like you’re trying to quantify your qual results there. I would suggest: variability between the coding from different people is information. It indicates they are looking for different information or driven by different concerns. Maybe tease that out?
