It is worth noting that it's about the publisher, not the studios developing the games and who likely have no say or involvement in this.
Still terrible and if you don't want to put money in their pockets, that's totally fair. But it isn't the people responsible for making the games doing this

Some of the reports are overblown. It was like 6 people. I've also read that Netease has had plans in place to cut ties to development in America in the event of a trade war, which...yeah. That'll happen, unfortunately.
