Blind tasting of slightly obscure French reds. Group's favourite was the Madiran. My favourite was the Á la Volée Mourvedre/Syrah.

Rainy day picnic with a lovely Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Do I love Coteaux Giennois more than Sancerre? Yes, yes I do. And not just because they cost half as much.

Picked up a bottle of my favourite Gamay, Malivoire Courtney Gamay, with the Courtney vineyard behind me.

Fantastic blend of Frapetto and Nerello Mascalese from Sicily, cleverly called "Frapello." Paired with a delicious calabrese salami pizza (we finished the pizza before I took a picture, so you will have to trust me it was delicious).

Backyard dining weather is finally here! Chicken Souvlaki with potatoes and Greek salad paired with a lovely Sauvignon Blanc from the obscure Coteaux Giennois appellation of the Loire.

Ended my annual 28-day hiatus from alcohol with this gem. 2018 Chateau Musar from Lebanon with braised lamb shoulder, farro with leeks and peas, and grilled broccoli. The Musar was still way too young but delicious.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Grenache/Shiraz from Western Australia. Light-bodied but abundantly fruity. Very affordable too.

In the year since I bought this bottle of Prince Edward County Pinot Noir, it developed a bit of bret (the smoky kind). Once that blew off, the tangy red-berry fruit really came out.
