turns out you don't always need a partition table, i feel brainwashed
An output of the "mount" command. Shows a /dev/sda block device directly mounted to a directory. Usually, /dev/sda is the whole drive and you have sda1, sda2, etc for different partitions. I accidentally formatted the drive to have no partition table, so it's just one FS there, no MBR/GPT
