Don't be fooled by the label “sock yarn”—always check the fiber content! Some manufacturers use "sock" to describe weight, not durability. I learned this the hard way—knit socks with 100% merino and they wore out in a few weeks. Choose yarn with 15% nylon/polyester for strength and durability.

Cosy knitting socks for myself. It is already the third pai. Love this simple stitch!

Although unravelling is a part of knitting, it could be really frustrating when you understand that you don't have enough yarn in the middle of the project and yarn was discontinued!
Does it happen with you sometimes? What do you do in this case - change your plan or looking for a yarn?
