I don’t like the connotations behind your first sentence. I’m in the US and wasn’t diagnosed until I was 38. It was a huge struggle before and I was lucky to have found someone who would entertain a diagnosis for me. There’s a lot of gate keeping.

He hadn’t been diagnosed. I’m usually okay with self diagnosis but there’s not an excuse for him, he has the resources to get a diagnosis.
