The Terminally Ill Adults Bill requires careful consideration of the risks posed by domestic abuse (DA) & coercion. It currently does not fully tackle specific safeguarding concerns for those experiencing DA. VISION proposes 4 principles for consideration.

Lifetime costs for childhood exposure to child maltreatment &/or parental domestic violence & abuse were £71,309 per child (non-fatal exposure), & £1,292,377 per CM fatality, with £27.8 billion projected costs. Total costs for exposure to pDVA alone = £1 billion. vision.city.ac.uk/news/the-eco...

New VISION Policy Briefing: A cross-government approach to preventing violence needs to include health services, alongside justice, welfare, education & other sectors. An effective & safe NHS response to survivors of domestic violence needs to be implemented.
