😆 My mum was a wonderful woman- in fact steering away from her mother’s bigotry was all in my favour. Her love for films was an added bonus 😍

This scene made my grandmother squirm in the cinema. She was a domineering mother and thought her daughter was outrageous for suggesting such a a film. Funny now. Not so much for my mother! She was told to never recommend such vile pictures ever again…

Your passion is evident! I was fortunate to have an excellent history teacher for my A’levels. I took for granted the privilege till years later when I started to share my experience of him visiting me as an undergraduate and taking me on guided tours around the Midlands.

I’m afraid it isn’t just the UK. But I admit the first sign of the parliamentary system failing recently was the Post Office Scandal.

The Industrial Revolution changed society and the economy. Leaving a rural setting and working in factories must’ve ve been traumatic, the lucky ones entered Cadbury’s or Rowntree’s with Quaker values that considered the quality of life of their employees. The system never looked as fragile as now.
