I personally don’t think he has the wherewithal to be that foresighted. I think, in his mind, he genuinely believed in the effectiveness of these decisions.

Still better than most others I reckon

Actually I don’t mind calm even if you are wrong. It’s the jingoism that whips people into a frenzy that I find dangerous regardless of right or wrong.

Couple of reasons how’s he doing all this and getting away. First, there were enough people to vote him in to begin with. Second he is ruthless and callous to not care about anyone else. And there are enough leaches to go along with it to get their own piece of the pie.

I would even go a step further perhaps - they have no loyalty to him either. They are only loyal to remaining in position of power whatever that might entail including being suck-ups.

Interesting idea. Not an economist but perhaps need more details to mull over. Size of lending book. Current asset to liability ratio. Terms of bailout if loan was to be called upon. All of this assuming that interest is indeed foregone otherwise it is another liability for tax payers.

I agree. Didn’t Trump greet Zelensky by loudly proclaiming to the journalists “he dressed up” or something along the lines?

I live in one of those 32 countries. I can assure you that government pays a fair price to those pharmaceutical businesses for their products, which in turn presumably has already factored in the cost of research in its pricing. I am skeptical of notion that 33rd is subsidising for the rest of 32.

I was born into Sikh faith however feel well and truly agnostic now. I cannot help but think that these traits are innate to human beings rather than religious teachings.

Human nature. We have history and tendency to take a good thing, overdo it or misuse it and then render it useless.
