Another, entire, Palestinian family wiped out from the civil registry—by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza. The Jargoun family. Their lineage is no more.

This is major #H5N1 news: While, so far, dairy cows in the US were infected by genotype B3.13, genotype D1.1 was found in Nevada via the national milk testing strategy.

If confirmed that it's not a bird intrusion into a milk tank, this means that there has been a new spillover into dairy cows.
USDA milk testing shows different strain of H5N1 bird flu in Nevada dairy herds
The USDA said four Nevada dairy herds were infected with an H5N1 bird flu strain that has circulated in wild birds, making prospects for containment in cows appear dim.

Zeynep Tufekci's lie about the context of the cancellation of the EcoHealth Alliance NIH grant in April 2020 is particularly shameful given the current climate.

It was an arbitrary political decision. At the time, the reason was working with WIV, and not "risky research". ▫️1/6

Tufekci starts her second paragraph stating that people who brought up a lab leak were labeled “kooks” or “cranks”.

Let me tell you, when I brought up that possibility, neither the head of the NIH, NIAID, or Wellcome thought I was a crank.

Instead, they encouraged me to investigate further.

“Yet, far from acting in courageous defiance, many scientists and administrators now seem to think that the best response to the war on DEI is to keep their heads low and wait out four hard years.”

Hell yes, Art Caplan. More courageous defiance, less quiet cowardice.
