I do grasp that they’re meant to be a wild caricature of the Nintendo console they’re running on, but it does seem like they’ve sorta lost that framing.

I had the same thought. Making them Rotoms also feels a bit weird to me. It was more interesting when they were over-designed scifi gadgets; more freedom to add more personality and flavor in their UIs to set them apart from each region. A smartphone/tablet erases a little of Pokémon’s identity.

I personally enjoy it. It’s a fun combination of creature collector, craft survival, and factory game. I’d like to see more games like it.

and it's particularly annoying that the discourse is mostly based on misconceptions on how generative systems work and the retroactive erasure of the field. Alas, there's no chance whatsoever for any of that nuance to break into the public sphere at this point.

Let alone all the AI that has run the world for the past age. Payment systems, smart features in Photoshop, image recognition, search engines, weather prediction... artificial intelligence is a vast, deep field with many subsets. The new generation of AI is itself a small subset of the field 1/2

It has become impossible to have any genuine discussion about AI and ML technologies because The Discourse™ has decided that all forms of automation are evil for some reason. Conveniently forgetting that AI has been a thing for more than a half century, and in everyday life for more than 30 years.

Huh, what? Last I heard Ori 3 was going to be pushed back for several years in favor of No Rest for the Wicked, perhaps up to a decade. Maybe Microsoft isn’t so thrilled about NRftW anymore?
I definitely expect Ori to come back someday, though. There’s simply no way they’ll drop it, too valuable.

Ignore? I haven’t seen that anywhere… does it fix any of Discord’s primary blocking implementation problems?
- can the ignored person learn they’ve been ignored?
- does it silently drop their messages from your client?
- or otherwise does Discord’s client no longer highlight the blocked messages?
