Yes, mental health “influencers” are broadly full of shit and are frequently promoting harmful & toxic behavior and practices. Mental health is an incredibly complex subject and so much content online is dangerously trivializing it. There’s a reason why one should just talk with a real psychiatrist.

As a switch, 100% this. It’s not something that can be forced, we have to vibe well and actually have reason to trust or it just won’t work. It takes some earnest work in both directions.
This sort of thing happened often enough to make me shut the door entirely for a long time. >_>
