I saw the X-Men Avengers Doomsday trailer over a week ago before a normal screening of Wicked For Good. I was surprised to see it, knowing absolutely nothing about it. It was good to be surprised by a trailer again at the cinema as you usually hear about it online first these days.

Gutted that Star Trek The Next Generation is leaving Netflix. Yes I know I could get a physical set that I would own but it's a bit of a comfort show for me. I liked that I could just stream a random episode when travelling about.

I’m off work for the holidays so thought I’d finally say that I quite enjoyed watching Alien Earth when I saw it a few months ago.

I forgot to say I finished Final Fantasy 1. So that's 7, 8, 9, 10 and 1 done on the Switch so now on to the next.

Been playing through all the Sega versions of the Resident Evil games again. (1-3 and Code Veronica). Finished CV tonight and loved how it feels like a proper sequel to the first two games. I loved how Chris and Wesker don't even appear until mid-way through disc 2 in this version.

Really enjoyed Euro 2025. England were amazing and it was such an entertaining tournament.

I find it odd hearing people say game key-cards are the best of both physical and digital. Surely it’s the worst of both? I thought the convenience of digital was no cartridge? Yeah you can sell it on, but I won’t be buying.

I remember first seeing Ridge Racer when it was released and it's hard to describe how incredible it was. A 60fps textured 3D racing game when we were playing 16-bit consoles in the home. It's good to finally see the arcade version on consoles for the first time.

Finished Final Fantady X-2. Enjoyed this one as it didn't require a lot of grinding. Next up on my Final Fantasy journey is Final Fantasy 1!

It’s interesting hearing debates about physical vs digital media. It’s all stored physically somewhere, whether that’s on a company’s server, your own storage device or on a removable disc or cartridge. Really the debate is about DRM, licensing and access rights.

Lovely bike ride along the Trans Pennine Trail to Hornsea and back.

My problem with recasting new actors as the same character in films and TV is that I’m terrible with names but good with faces. Usually when a person is recast I think it’s an entirely new character.

They say you can “transfer” your Switch 1 games to Switch 2 but that implies they remove them from one on to the other. Some games don’t work on Switch 2, do you lose them? If I got a Switch 2 could I keep all my Switch Lite games on that for travel and get a Switch 2 to also play them on the TV?

I've now finished Final Fantasy X. I enjoyed it but half my play time was playing through to reach the final boss and the other half was levelling up enough to defeat it. Now on to Final Fantasy X-2.

Switch 2 thoughts:
Great to see the arcade version of Ridge Racer make it to consoles, but surely the original Switch can handle a 30+ year game.
Love GameCube games, but they’re just subscription based and can’t buy them.
Alien Isolation not compatible.
Street Fighter Collection not compatible.

Decided to play through the Resident Evil series again Sega style. My preference is usually the GameCube versions but I have an urge to return to the original mansion.

Gutted that out of all the science fiction futures that could have come true we have to live in the Robocop one.

I find it interesting that most sports video games put in so much effort to try and emulate a TV broadcast, rather than the much better experiences of either being there in the stadium or there as a player.
