I recently started a postgraduate diploma in Cybersecurity and I've really enjoyed researching different historic and contemporary encryption techniques. Here's a couple of diagrams I prepared with Excalidraw for my notes. Still working out the best way to communicate the AES S-box and round keys.

I took a first look at the Cesium 3DTiles plugin by Battle Road Digital for the open-source Godot Engine today. I haven't tested Godot in a while but this project was a great reason to pick it up again. The plugin was really easy to setup. Further details here: cesium.com/blog/2025/05...

I'm excited to have received a copy of 'Geodesign, Urban Digital Twins, and Futures' by @paulcureton.bsky.social and Elliot Hartley in the post today. It examines #Geodesign, #UrbanDigitalTwins, #Gaming, #ParticipatoryPlanning, and features our own project 'Data City Dublin' as a case study.

Yesterday I was testing #Deepseek-R1 locally for coding and was surprised when it gave me the same code back after I'd requested changes. Very #BartlebyTheScrivener Looking at the reasoning I could see where it started talking itself out of the request after generating 'I'm still a bit confused...':

Interesting to see potential for the model to talk itself out of updating code when reasoning "But I'm still a bit confused about how to handle this comprehensively. Maybe looking at examples would help, but since the user is asking for code, perhaps writing pseudo-code first could guide me better."
