What do you think triggers your ability to focus and create?
I am a new romance writer. I find it interesting that character development as an expressed alter-ego works for some writers. I can relate to my character but I still have a wall up to infusing character with aspects of myself.

Went to a historic cemetery recently. It fell into disuse around 1930.
The majority of the graves were for those under 5.
The majority.
Of.the.graves.
Multiple children per family.
Plenty of fresh air, sun, exercise and veggies back in 1900.
Just no vaccines or antibiotics.

We have forgotten what it's like to hold a child paralyzed with polio or comfort a mom who has lost her child from measles. It wasn’t that many generations ago. And I don‘t want to see us go backward. They protect our children. They are our best defense against these terrible illnesses.
