👎🇩🇰 A zoo in Denmark is asking the public to donate their pets and horses to... be killed and fed to captive predators!

💔 This isn’t conservation, it’s cruelty. No animal should suffer for the sake of another’s captivity.

It’s time to rethink zoos.
Denmark zoo asks public to donate unwanted small pets or horses to feed captive predators
"We have a responsibility to imitate the natural food chain of the animals - in terms of both animal welfare and professional integrity," Aalborg Zoo says.

🙋 Over population is not the problem.

The problem is 20% of the population consumes 80% of global resources.

A tiny % of the population is hording most of the resources & polluting the most.

👏 It’s high time that we fix the over consumption crisis.

"Have we asked ourselves why, despite the numerous interventions on #LivingIncomes, the gap still remains? If projects only last 1-2 years, how can we expect farmers not to revert to their original situation once the support ends?"

As the EU unveils its #Omnibus on agriculture, the #FairTrade Movement regrets that it overlooks non-EU small-scale organic farmers struggling with the implementation of the EU #Organic Regulation.

This failure puts livelihoods & the future of the sector at risk.⚠️🛒

We bid farewell to our comrade Pepe Mujica — a beacon of integrity, a tireless voice for social justice, and a humble leader who carried the hopes of the people with quiet strength.

His life was a testament to the fact that another world is possible.

Gracias por tanto, compañero.

The Vision for Agriculture & Food missed the opportunity to embed fairness in the sector, neglecting non-EU farmers & failing to push for ambitious market reforms.

At today's #AGRIFISH Council, ministers must urge @ec.europa.eu to ensure farmers who feed us earn a decent income, in Europe & beyond.
The @ec.europa.eu Vision for Agriculture & Food is a step forward but overlooks market justice & non-EU farmers' rights.

❌ As it stands, the Vision fails to tackle the inequalities that farmers, especially smallholders, face in global supply chains.

The European Commission has proposed amendments to the #CMO regulation that aim to define 'fair' and 'equitable'. But would this truly protect farmers? 👩‍🌾

Weak definitions risk fairwashing, misleading consumers & undermining ethical businesses.

The EU food system heavily relies on imports from non-EU countries, where farmers often face greater injustices.

To uphold its commitment to fairness, the @ec.europa.eu's Vision for Agriculture & Food must:
✅ Ban below-cost purchases
✅ Ensure living incomes for all farmers
