Of course, it’s most effective if the vast majority do it. Would be helpful to create mute lists too. Doubt it will catch on but I’m enjoying it more.

When you block them they also get to forget you exist. Plus it’s a psychological win for them (rejection is associated with validation, the harder you reject, the better they feel). But mainly I just like knowing they can still see what I’m saying about them and can only whine into the void.

Just go to their profile and click the three dots next to the follow button, and you’ll be given the option to mute on the pop up menu. will mute anything they do for you, including reposts. If they comment, a “muted comment” notice is visible in thread (not notifications) but doesn’t show name, etc
