This point I will totally agree with. I went into a spot where they were not upfront about their management culture and it was a disaster. Being candid about their culture would have saved me and them a bunch of aggravation.

We got along fine - when I moved on to another company, he soon followed.

We had a guy on one of my teams who, by his appearance, you could tell he was 'a bit to the right', maybe even a skinhead in his off hours. One day as we were talking, he said "I home school my daughter. Want to know why?" I said no, and that was the end of it.

Interesting points. I used to hire developers. There are at least 2 kinds of "culture". There's : We take pride in gettin' shit done vs. Tomorrow is okay. A mismatch here is is not compatible. The other kind of stuff - I don't think it belongs in the office. I know that might be hard these days.
