Very difficult language to parse. Seems to suggest that a person can both be exalted AND "destroyed in the flesh"... this seems to hint at the possibility of forgiveness for sins that don't include murder (or denial of the spirit in the next verse). I don't know that it's exactly carte blanche...

Never heard it described like that... besides being extremely wordy, it seems like it's just standard temple/covenant language. No direct references to polygamy (though it's important to mention for full context of course).

I like seeing the coherent ones, but sometimes it's tough to pick them out from non-coherent ones.

Why do you call out those specific verses? A cursory read through 40 doesn't appear to show anything more severe than what's being covered in the lesson...
