I honestly think it comes down to a matter of preference. When people ask questions like that, they tend to be on the shier side and when you say "Sure, go ahead" it's giving them the okay to ask the question rather than bombarding the receiver with a question they weren't in the mood-

It has been raining off and on since February with multiple days in between with full sun. I know that Ginkgoes like the sun and we don't use pesticides so what's going on?
