I haven't done much recording with it tho. If you find that recording directly into the laptop is a problem, even with an interface, maybe you can get something like a tascam recorder, something that handles recording audio? that you could then plug into the computer to transfer the files

I tried ableton on a laptop I got back in 2020, and it was a more budget option even then (and mostly just for college), VSTs were the main problem BC they can be CPU heavy, doing stuff mostly with samples and some lighter weight synths was fine though.
