The Steam Deck controls were solid! I played it on there and iirc they put a lot of work into making it work

10. 1000xRESIST

A unique game that tells a poignant and thought-provoking story with wonderful characters and distinctively good voice acting. One of the most cinematic games I’ve played; many moments will live with me for a long time. Kudos to @sunsetvisitor.studio on an incredible work of art!

9. Hollow Knight: Silksong

Well worth the wait, and a worthy successor to one of my all-time favorite games. The vastness and difficulty offered by Pharloom were immense, and playing through this game was incredibly satisfying. Bosses, characters, writing, world, music, combat, everything: 10/10

8. Donkey Kong Bananza

A triumph from start to finish, Bananza spectacularly delivers on the fantasy of punching your way through any and everything. Bananza was delightfully fun the whole way through, and the ending put such a smile on my face. At the end of the day, all I can say is OH, BANANA!

7. Donut County

Finally got around to playing this after having it on my Switch for years. A very charming and funny game, its blessedly short length made for a wonderful evening. BK best boy

6. Mario Kart World

MKW has been an absolute delight. Playing this game feels so stylish, and it offers great fun both in the single player free roam and the multiplayer races. The piece de resistance has to be the incredible soundtrack; I’ve been listening for hours and hours since playing.

5. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

“Refreshing” seems to be the mot du jour, as 2025’s games continue to blow me away. Expedition 33 was an incredible experience, its deeply emotional story told with extravagant visuals/music and wonderfully fun gameplay. Kudos to the folks at Sandfall, they made art.

4. Blue Prince

What an amazing and refreshing experience reaching Room 46 was. The puzzles, strategies, and secrets were engaging and fun from start to finish. I look forward to exploring more and continuing to dig into Mt. Holly’s mysteries. All puzzle fans should check out this gem of a game.

3. Outer Wilds

Finally got to play this masterpiece after wanting to for years. It absolutely lived up to the hype. The exploration and puzzles were sublime, and I’ll be whistling the theme for days to come. The ending is one of the most brilliant and emotional I’ve ever experienced. 10/10

2. Split Fiction

Another banger from Hazelight, I loved this game just as much if not more than It Takes Two. The weaker character dynamic is buoyed by the incredible set pieces and mechanics. Loved the ending as well. Lots of respect to Hazelight for keeping couch co-op alive and well!
