I didn’t know other people had this problem!! I love oils, but I can’t make my work painterly—I just instinctively copy exactly what I see. My profs loved it, but it frustrated me that I never figured out how to “build down” as you say. I totally understand how it’s extra work. Ty for sharing 💜
