Obviously, I would not call it a great success in the end. I am asking what harm you believe it did.

How exactly did those groups hurt the cause, David? They didn’t accomplish much but created space for Rs to at least talk about climate. I doubt they influenced voters. The CSC was a bipartisan group and its expansion owed a lot to grassroots advocacy by Citizens’ Climate Lobby volunteers like me.
