Another great memory I have of Rob Reiner: summer of 2020. I just had my daughter and was nursing every two hours. I decided to donate to WisDem and see the reading of princess bride. What a treat it was to see all everyone and Reiner as the grandfather! Good cause and I got a little extra sleep

Cary Elwes wrote a great book called As You Wish, all about making The Princess Bride. On a whim I got it on audible and not in print. Besides hearing Elwes narrate his book all of the other actors and others interviewed read their own part. I really enjoyed Rob Reiner’s parts.

So if you’re getting rid of stuff in your closet and you have white collared shirts, black dress shoes for men or women, black pants in good condition consider donating them to your local schools. Many orchestra/band students are struggling to find concert clothes now that concert season is upon us.

My sister lives in town that has a parade for Father’s Day. No parade for Mother’s Day.

Since I’ve had a kid I created a watch list of shows/movies that one day I’d be able to watch. Somehow the kiddo always knows when I’m about to watch something not for kids and wakes up right then. I’ve been watching con man on prime and the residence on Netflix. Great shows! I need the laughs.

I generally feel overwhelmed when I realize we’re only half a year into this chaos. I’ve been trying to follow different news organizations like NPR and Washington post. Plus Heather Cox Richardson and Jay Kuo. I know they can’t cover everything. Any recommendations on who else to subscribe to?

Music education is so important right now. Students need to have access to the arts to self regulate emotions, stress, socialize and connect to each other. I judge any charter or private school that doesn’t have instrumental music hard. Public schools in Georgia and Florida that offer orchestra rock

School is starting back up and a big shoutout to all of the extra things that teachers do. My kids teacher sent home a sealed bag on confetti called ready confetti. You put it under your pillow the night before kindergarten. My kids teacher sent put it in her pillow case!

Has anyone recently called their representatives? I called my state senators (Florida) and noticed that the people answering were frazzled and unprepared to be talking to me. When I called my local representative I had a really informative conversation with staff. I recommend everyone start local.

So I’m listening to Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty while I drive. It occurred to me that so far all of the books I’ve read this year haha January 2025 are only by female authors. I’m also reading Happy Place by Emily Henry at home. My next book will either be a Stephanie plum book or Holly.

I left my book in the kids bedroom last night. They’re sleeping in from being sick, can’t go in to get it for fear of waking them up. Maybe I’ll start another book.

I’ve finished the husbands by Holly Gramazio. Set in London and has an entertaining premise of husbands coming and going by way of the attic ladder. I read this one pretty fast until the last thirty pages where I drew it out because I didn’t want it to end. I use to do that as a teenager!

I would like to give a shout out to the author. “Delicate condition” by Danielle Valentine is fabulous. I found myself reading it very quickly, having to go back a page and make sure I got everything. It’s a page turner about a disturbing pregnancy. I feel validated and seen. Highly recommend

I got a bunch of books for Christmas. My goal is to read and think and read and relax. Some are silly and one is pretty serious. Don’t ever waste your time feeling silly about reading.
