We have always thought of Baume & Mercier as a brand that is seriously underrated, we have a real soft spot for B&M a well established, respected brand but somehow doesn’t get the Kudos other brands receive.

Here is a classic Gents Baume & Mercier Dress Watch from the 1950’s which will never date.

Nowadays Jacquet-Droz are known for making horological works of art for the wrist….but there was a time when they made rather nice watches where you didn’t need to sell all your worldly possessions to own one, the Watch featured dates back to the 1970s and never been worn !

A classic Rolex today, dating to 1961 this is a Rolex Oyster Royal Model No.6144, was originally introduced in 1933, Aimed at medical professionals because it’s centrally pivoted second hand made the Watch more suitable for taking a pulse over a 60 second period.
It looks pretty good too !

A bit of a rarity. In 1939 the British Ministry of Defence ordered 139,000 watches from 16 Swiss manufacturers all were marked with the initials ATP ( Army Trade Pattern) and designated serial number. Todays watch is fairly rare as Buren only supplied 2500 of them

A real pretty watch. Classic tank style but with an American twist, dating to the 1950’s this Jaeger Le Coultre or plain Le Coultre if you live Stateside, is a really ageless, and will always impress.

This is a Zodiac Olympos Mystery Watch dating from the mid 1960’s, the case was inspired by a Manta Ray or Batman nobody knows for sure but it’s a very cool looking watch

In our opinion the first and most iconic Sports Watch, this is the Omega Dynamic Gents Dress Watch, a radical design, first launched in 1968 and production finished in 1977 this watch dates to the early 70’s, was offered with a range of interchangeable straps and bracelets, it’s really striking

It has to be said, we are rather partial to these jumbo chronographs from the 1950’s you’ll find them under a veritable battery of names but all will be marked Chronograph Suisse and were sold as souvenirs in Tourist shops and departure lounges at the time, all now very collectable.

Back to 1957 today, this watch was produced by Elgin in the USA and it’s called the Futura, it’s a Mystery Watch and these were popular around that time with brands like Jaeger Le Coultre, Longines and others producing their versions.

A throwback to the late 1920’s, a jumbo sized cushion shaped case made by Manfredi, 24 hour military styled dial, amazingly even after nearly 100 years it still looks rather contemporary and stylish.
P.S. The strap is original !

The time of remembrance is here, so in keeping here is a watch from World War Two, it’s an Air Ministry issued RAF Ebel Pilots Watch from about 1940, very similiar spec to the Omega 30T RAF Pilots Watch issued at the same time we suspect it’s seen action, if only watches could talk.

They do say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, whilst the steel and gold design is well known and usually associated with another brand this Baume & Mercier Gents Baumatic from the 1980’s has taken it beyond a pale imitation and created something else, it’s very stylish !

Sometimes a watch doesn’t have to be really expensive to look cool, take this watch for example, this is a 1960 Bulova President Gents Dress Watch, great case design without needing deep pockets !

We love a bit of quirkiness in watches, so here’s this 1960’s Longines Wittnauer Gents Dress Watch with the date inset into the case. Hamilton took this idea on a decade later with their Dateline models.

We go back nearly 100 years for this watch, made in around 1927 this is an art deco styled USA made Waltham Chevalier Gents Dress Watch, note the black enamel bezel which made these watches so distinctive.

Clocks going back, autumnal leaves on the ground, dropping temperatures means Autumn has arrived, so today we feature this rather elegant 1960’s Girard Perregaux Gents Automatic with a rather fetching guilloche style dial.

Doctors Watches from the 1930’s we just love them, it’s that dual dial layout, simple but very effective, great for taking a pulse, but also really great looking. This is a Louis Gents Doctors Watch from the mid 1930’s , Louis an American based brand from that period.
