In 1980, Sinclair Research Ltd (UK) launched their first home computer, the ZX80. It came as either a kit to build at home or pre-made for just £99.95. It brought computers into easy reach for home users in the UK.

It featured a Zilog Z80 CPU and 1K of memory.

The Commodore PET, released in 1977, was one of the first integrated computers for the masses.

It had a MOS 6502, which was developed by the Motorola 6800 team as a less expensive option. The PET had no graphics other than text, great for work, but this didn't stop gamers!

The IBM Thinkpad (now known as the Lenovo Thinkpad) series was released back in 1992.

The first (pictured below) was the ThinkPad 700, it was the first laptop, as we know them today, released by IBM. It boasted an Intel 486, colour LCD, 4MB Hard Drive, and the famous red Trackpoint.
