We would always peruse the old J.C. Whitney catalog for "go fast" (or at least look fast) parts.

Yes. The Germans all seemed to like the Corvair beltline.

HA! I drove the black VW to 1st year college. A buddy took shoe polish & wrote "Porsche Power" on the back of it. We drilled out the muffler. It was a 36 HP car, slow as molasses but *sounded fast*. Eventually I rolled it over & destroyed it in the college parking lot. Shoe polish + misspent youth😉

Many years ago, I had a 521 Pickup. Great vehicle!

Yes. Absolutely!
Another beltline car!
I race with this Imp all the time. Driven with gusto by my friend Simon. I love the little quasi-Coventry Climax engine in the back of these.
Second photo is me in my A35 battling Simon (he won 😉)

My original 1961 Corvair 2-door with (as usual) the engine bonnet open.
We had just run in a car rally and the stripes were shoe polish to make the car seem more "sporty".
(a big fail....I know 😉)

Me in my A35 @ Lime Rock racing a friend in his NSU 1000 TTS with its obvious "beltline".
NSU carried this styling effect all the way into its Audi and VW iterations.

Excellent! Thanks! 👍

Love the A30 and the Riley!

it's funny, over here our club is the VSCCA.

Willys M274 Mechanical Mule used by US military in Viet Nam and other areas.
Light, simple bare-bones transportation capable of carrying 1/4 ton.

Yes. I tagged the photo if you click on it. Saw this car at Classic LeMans '25

Russians will buy their bombs as long as they throw in some cannon fodder.

The 57-year-old AM-only radio in my '69 MGB works too! 😉

Donald Trump's father, Fred had racist housing practices and discriminatory rental policies. The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.
Woody Guthrie wrote a song about this called "Old Man Trump" in 1954. Here's Ken Raabe doing Woody's song.

Yeah, an MGB pillow dash does not have a glove box like the metal dash seen in Jeff's post.
I like that steering wheel in Jeff's photo too. But it's not the original "banjo style". It looks like a Derrington or similar aftermarket wheel.

A nice touch!
I love the early MGB metal dash like that.
Much nicer than the "pillow dash" in my '69 MGB.
