It might be overlong and is definitely heavy handed but the experience of watching The Substance earlier this week in a packed matinee showing full of clueless boomer retirees was absolutely delightful

I skipped Emilia Perez but other than that it’s a fairly solid lineup this year imo.
I probably liked half of these a bit more than you but totally agree on Nickel Boys being the outlier here, that movie kind of blew me away. Your piece on Ross was incredibly moving too so thanks for that 🙏

Any thoughts on the AI + CGI tweaks for the new Se7en transfer? Between that and the 7.1 downgrade I’ll probably just stick to old Blu-ray
