True, HIPAA is in context of patient doctor relationships. But if a journalist were to publish data that came from the doctor(even leaked info) they would not be in any legal trouble. BUT, if they were specifically ASKING for that leaked data from a doctor, then that WOULD be violating the law.

This is what I was looking at too, if the claims are true about leaking phi, then it WOULD be bad, but violating HIPAA? Idk, and there doesn't seem to be any immediately revealing info until one of the patients themselves CONFIRM that yes, that is them, or a doctor confirms
