Thank you to leaders across major California health systems and health plans for inviting me to your annual conference in Anaheim this evening.

The focus was squarely on equitable access to healthcare across the state.

Despite obvious challenges right now, I am hopeful for our future.

Today, I had the privilege of giving the healthcare keynote to the Wharton School’s Alumni Association.

The topic was Leadership Resilience in a Time of Great Uncertainty and Change

Today was extra special as I got to warm up the room for Secretary David Shulkin, an exceptional physician leader

Love to my mom and her example.

On this Veteran’s Day, we shine a vital spotlight on treatment resistant PTSD and related conditions.

Special thanks to @governor.ca.gov and those seeking to accelerate the safe and appropriate use of psychedelics as a modality to help those with treatment resistant conditions.

Absolutely foolish, nonsensical, and weak line of “attack” against the Affordable Care Acts.

It improved the lives of 24 million people who didn’t have insurance.

It didn’t do a single thing to worsen the already highly disorganized dynamics of American Healthcare.

No agreement on healthcare but the government will temporarily reopen.

Wish Dems would have stood their ground.

Many millions will now shift to not purchasing any health insurance or signing for high deductible health plans that strain budgets without offering robust coverage.

Proud to be in New York City this evening to honor the nations largest healthcare safety net hospital.

Medisys - which includes Jamaica and Flushing Hospitals - is a vital bedrock for Queens and they do incredible work supporting their patients.

Thank you for invitation to emcee tonight’s event!

Proud to partner with @couriernewsroom.bsky.social to launch “The Diagnosis”

The suffering of Americans from this administration’s policies will not go untold.

Hope you’ll tune in.

1. Americans want continuity of sane policies to improve their lives. Trump continuing Biden’s efforts to lower drug costs is the right thing to do, even if he won’t give credit to his predecessor.

2. My mom’s photo is above my left shoulder. I know she’s always looking after me.

It’s been hard to find a path forward in the grief of losing my mom.

I did get comfort being back in the ICU last night, working with great colleagues and caring for patients and helping their families.

Definitely brought me closer to my mom.

I assume it was the pending lawsuits and not a crisis of conscience that prompted the pivot.

Always my protector.

I miss my beloved mom.

Team Newsom @governor.ca.gov is taking bold, concrete steps to reduce dependence on a chaotic federal health landscape.

California is now producing its own insulin through CalRx, an innovative and timely model that leverages their purchasing power to reduce healthcare costs for Californians.

Found an unsent birthday card from my mom, pre-purchased for my 43rd birthday.

I’ve been trying hard to find ways amid grief to keep her words, her voice, and her encouragement front and center.

I’d love your tips on how you’ve approached keeping memories of lost loved ones as vivid as possible.

Reading the testimonials of former NICU nurses that worked with my mom brought me to tears yesterday.

While I feel paralyzed by grief and disbelief, I always knew that patient care and healing was in my blood.

These words are so pure and speak to such gentle and noble intent.

It is with profound sadness and grief that I share the unexpected passing of my beloved mother (and protector & advocate)

It happened suddenly, one moment with us, the next moment I got a call saying she wasn’t

She loved her sons so deeply. We are so lucky to have called her our mom.

Regardless of your faith, wishing all of you and your loved ones the blessings of Diwali, the majestic and luminescent Festival of Lights!

This year its meaning — the prevailing of goodness and humanity over its opposite — is even more poignant.

Happiest Diwali!

The staff of the CDC - all public servants with impeccable credentials - often do unheralded work.

It’s that very work which makes us clinicians much smarter - they let us know of new threats, give us key disease trends, and help shape our diagnostic acumen.

A functioning CDC is good medicine.
