I spent the same amount of time solving it in Python as he did solving the puzzle in QuickBASIC. I though my performance was ok... but now I've a completely different opinion 😀. Well done, @jonathan.dieter.ie

Today I made it a bit more of a challenge - by using QuickBASIC for the first time in over 30 years.
Took me 1.5 hours versus 5 minutes yesterday. Programming languages have come a *long* way.

I just completed "Ceres Search" - Day 4 - Advent of Code 2024 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2024/day/4. That was fun and rewarded when it worked at the first try on my personal input! I'm looking forward to the next. Ps. I'm planning to release my solution to github once the AoC will be over.
