Runeterra died because it wasn't being monetized--it's expensive to make a good TCG.

Do you have data that differentiates between the old aggressive builds of Prowess and the new more controlling builds that cut creatures and pump spells? (if not now, for Thursday's article)?

That's correct, it's the one thing you can't do with non-Switch 2 controllers.

This isn't that new either; are you familiar with the Gamecube game where you use a special controller to walk between Japanese temples?

GBG already supports a standalone mouse--maybe they let it support some of the features of the new Joy-Con specifically, or even just an overall size limit increase.

Okay, that makes sense :)

It also seems like there's slightly less fixing at common than usual for a three-color set, just in terms of numbers--obviously the full set hasn't been revealed yet, but just Globe/Wilds/Sentinel/gainlands seems low (though IIRC there are more gainlands in the land slot than previous sets)

Interesting--IIRC that would have been the first CDE cards at common since Alara without an easier casting cost like Morph.

When the 3c dragons were at common were they Two-brid or straight CDE?

Because those are the only things people actually click on (and since outlets got the game early between the embargo and the beta, it was easy to pre-write all the articles for launch).

One dev also has eight of the same racing game in Next Fest, just with different vehicle types (and near-identical thumbnails).

Surprised Sims (Simcity, The Sims, and the various spinoffs) didn't even get considered--I think it falls off like Warcraft in the final stages, but it's close.

One thing you could do is change the SIFTD account (and your account for that matter) to siftd.net instead of bluesky.social (which serves as a kind of verification).

Nice to see someone else praising Dungeons of Hinterberg--still not sure if that's my GOTY or Lil' Guardsman (or Indy, but that's boring :p )

Was playtesting for a set like this on Arena (especially for simple/reprinted stuff like this) or in paper?

How much of that is the global audience compared with TV? In particular, he's somehow gotten a sizable Chinese audience, and they always inflate online numbers (we've seen that with eSports in particular).

Don't worry, it's a Pioneer card now so you'll get to put it in the inevitable Eldrazi Anthology :)

How high was the bar for minor downgrades to put new cards on the client? Unnatural Endurance, Vulturous Aven, Nullify, Ambuscade, Sudden Reclamation, Blazing Hellhound among others are a step down from their equivalents in PIO but aren't on the client.

It seems like a lot of the rare/bonus sheet duplicates are cards printed in the past year (Notion Thief, Rabblemaster, Elspeth, Liliana of the Dark Realms, Sphinx's Tutelage)--clearly you knew some stuff in the pipeline (there's no Boros Charm for example), but how much influence was there?

I'm curious: when is the cutoff for "pencils down" with a digital set like this? IIRC it's six months or more for a paper set because of distribution, but I'm assuming it's shorter here (especially for things that don't need new art).

Thanks for answering all my hyper-specific questions--I've been following this set for so long it's nice to see how the sausage got made.

3. No rare Fuse cards on the spell sheet is surprising, especially given you implemented Fuse. Was it simply a space issue, or could you not implement one of the cards (maybe Catch/Release)?

2. Why are Oath of Nissa/Chandra rares in the main set rather than uncommons on the Planeswalker sheet? I have a feeling you can't explicitly tell me the answer, but they seem like more uncommon effects than, say, Oath of Gideon or Stain the Mind.
