Most teachers show their students the difference between major and minor. He showed me why they’re the same. It connected musical ideas that don’t come to many players in their teens.

Today I’m paying tribute to Matt “Guitar” Murphy. He really taught me to think outside the box. This one’s for you sir!

I started a project to get back to my musical roots. Improv taught me how to play with people I’d never played with or even met. It taught me to play songs I’d never heard. Some of what I’ve done is too long for Blue sky. But here’s one they’ll allow. #guitar #improv
