I’m very sorry to announce this to the rest of the country & the world, but a transitional logo has been chosen for the 2034 Salt Lake City Olympics & this is it. Why does it say Utah? We don’t know. Why is the font illegible? Yet another mystery. Did they go ugly on purpose? Again, no idea.

Understand your target audience and who's adjacent. It's imperative to selecting early readers for feedback. Get people from both audiences and recognize their critique. Some will reinforce your instincts and some will help you better develop your characters and plot points #booksky
Most writers wait until their script is "ready" to reach out for feedback. By then, you've missed the chance to build relationships through the messy middle drafts. Trading early pages with other writers creates bonds that last beyond any single project.

I saw David Byrne at the Dolby Theatre (where the Oscars are held) and decided I’d try to combine my job (writing) with one of my biggest passions (live music) for this week’s #Scriptsky #Screenwriting thread. Sounds odd, but the elements that made Bryne’s show so incredible overlap with writing.

I hate seeing people struggle with communicating their skills during a job interview. Study the job description and be able to regurgitate the same verbiage as it applies to your skill set. Anticipate potential questions. Practice your responses. No question should catch you off guard.
