I don't talk about my philosophy, I embody it. Fan of Marcus Aurelius and Epictitus. Animal lover, dog lover and a lover of Democracy. Music, movies, you name it. Food! Any body of water. Big reader. Enough!
Jacqueline Bisset smacking tiny Helen Hayes in the face, and all that followed, I was there for it! Can still hear that slap, and it's been years. I'd agree as to the influence on DH2.

And doesn't my dog, also allergic to chicken, fish every last bone from beneath a pile of leaves. And isn't chicken the most ubiquitous bone on Brooklyn streets. He's had a few, over the years, but no irreparable harm. Loose stool for a time or two. Don't stress too much!

You can safely ignore the gossip, I do, and I live here. Way more important things going on.

Wow! Looking forward to seeing this but man I loved your take on it. Like reading Pauline Kael back in the day.

The first 2 sound great, you lose me with the rum, too assertive a flavor, for me.

Initially Santo looks at me as if to say This is not the natural order of things, but only for a moment, then goes to his cache of bones and flings them at me, one after another

Had this exact thought! How long did he practice? Has trouble enough finishing a thought, let alone a sentence.

Words I live by... and so glad I discovered you!

Will do, with pleasure

Ok, something got lost in transit. I'll be ordering the Daily Stoic, unless you think there's another I should get first, Thriftbooks seems to have them all. Glad we connected.

I am following you! What a dick. There must have been something I picked up on your posts, to follow. Glad we connected.

I am sold on Ryan and will order his own take on Stoicism. Appreciate the heads up. Incredible you mentioned him! We might be kindred spirits, the first I've met here. May I follow you?

I don't know Ryan Holliday nor his work, but I immediately googled him and here's what. He has a book called the Daily Stoic. I have Marcus Aurelius& Epictitus at my bedside! The origin of Stoicism. Their thought has shaped my life, what it means to be a man, responsible, taking care of business. 1

I too remember that plunger! Incredible how those images stayed with us, and how lucky we were to grow up at that time. I believe it was all Mel Blanc, borderline genius, such distinct characters, the Dan Castelleneta of his day. And I laughed at your favorite line! Man, thanks for memory. LOL!!!

Hysterical! Using the business end of a plunger to get his fat ass in the oven is why I love those cartoons. So ridiculous I couldn't stop laughing
