once you have light hitting your ground glass, you’ve got a screen. this one is very, very small, so i tore apart a cheap loupe to magnify it.

light comes in through the lens and splits at the pellicle (socket shown in pic 1, rectangle with circle the middle); some light travels to a piece of ground glass (slot shown in pic 2, on viewfinder tube), while the rest passes through to the film (film gate shown in pic 3, above shutter disc)
combination lens plate and reflex viewfinder; a lens flange is attached off-center on top of a rectangular plate. there’s a viewfinder tube off the left side. a platform for a pellicle mirror is directly in line with the viewfinder tube. back side of piece; the bottom side of the viewfinder tube has a slot to insert ground glass front view of a B&H 1-9 with the lens plate off. the shutter is open, showing the very very small 8mm film gate directly above the shutter axle.

okay, it’s not fully assembled because i don’t have a couple pieces of glass, but here’s my reflex viewfinder after a week of prototyping:

anyway, here’s a silver and zirconia flamingo i made for my wife

here are some of my favorite prints
