Happy Halloween 2025!!

I am reading Alan Moore’s run on Swamp Thing for the first time ever, and this absolutely rips. Forty years old and still a prime example of stunning storytelling.

I get that comics are serious business, but stuff like DC x Sonic the Hedgehog are the epitome of what comic books are meant to be.

Twenty years ago this fall, I walked into a used bookstore and bought damn near every @stephenking.bsky.social book they had. I was going to read them all, and then life got in the way.

Instead of reading as a college student, I read it this week as my daughter turned 4. This WRECKED me.

My daughter turns 4 today. Happened in the blink of an eye. Happy birthday, my sweet girl. My movie-loving buddy. My beeeeeest fwiend. ❤️

We had a WONDERFUL time. My daughter is in love with the theatrical experience (but will any future movie live up to the experience of singing along to your favorite movie with a packed crowd?) Can’t wait to write about the experience for The Film Legacy this week!

Finally have some time off to dive into Good Game, No Rematch by @mikedrucker.bsky.social and I’m happy to report that it’s a laugh-out-loud kind of book. The Game Boy chapter… oh my gosh, I remember those days!

I’ve been working on a review of Extraction (2020) for my website. Not sure if I’ll have it up Friday. Still mulling it over in my head, but I genuinely enjoyed it. Action was very crisp, and the “one-shot” was a true highlight.

For me, the 4th of July isn’t complete without watching 1776!
