a pretty fun visual novel with a cool premise, and all my old favourite games all packaged into one
it was hard not putting them on the list but this year was competitive 😩

Number 1: Undead Unluck

the manga finished super early into 2025 and a couple days ago i had to think if i really still cared that much
so i reread it and yeah
i really do
undead unluck has moved my soul 😭
im definitely gonna be thinking about this one for a long time

Had this been just the gacha game, this wouldve made the top 10 but been significantly lower

While Gozyuger cannot make the list due to corporate meddling, the OP is a banger and im really glad that the show got me into one of my new favourite artists 🙏

Number 6: The Roottrees are Dead

Puzzle games are cool and great when you use deduction and reasoning to solve it instead of knowing what kinda crack the dev was smoking
but its even better when youre using it to uncover family drama, and theres a LOT in this game 😩

Number 7: Donkey Kong Bananza

Theres been a lot of talk about whether this game is better or worse than mario odyssey
All i can say is that it made me feel like i was playing odyssey for the first time all over again

Number 8: Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger

it was a great return to form for sentai after the insane shit kingohger did the year before, and then the final lap got really woke for some reason and it was awesome and also space michael jackson was there

Number 9: Sonic Racing: Crossworlds

I FORGET THAT I ACTUALLY LOVE RACING GAMES GUYS
this wouldve been higher up if racing didnt get taken over by some other game this year
