“If we don't craft the invitation for disability services to include more people of color, to include more LGBTQIA+ individuals, to include members of the transgender community, then we are not doing the work that we say we're doing." - Wally Tablit

I'm a social worker & work with all kinds of people. One of my families immigrated from Iraq. They fled Missouri this week because of receiving death threats while shopping, while at the hospital, while at school. They thanked me for being one of the good ones.

We have to do better.

I've been struggling, this past month moreso than before, with how to participate meaningfully in the very important resistance happening currently. What in my daily life to cut out so I can reserve the energy to put towards activism. I leave here one perspective.

This weekend I am reminded of the vital role of community in resistance. That we endure by connecting with & relying on one another. By sharing both grief & joy. By holding each other up while also leaning on others. By remembering that bravery is love holding space for fear. Today I am so grateful.

Tank Girl always reminds me when I need it.
