I have found certain Buddhist views on the self, identity, and ego, very in line with the struggle against capitalist propaganda and consumerist culture. The Buddha taught that we are helplessly conditioned from the moment we are born, and to become truly awake we must liberate ourselves from this.

I’ve heard this take too many times. I hope it’s correct, but I’m not convinced. It’s more likely just a convenient way to get around potential ethics violations involved with actually being a government official and FOIA requests. Is the heritage foundation just a useless advisory board?

Mississippi has twice the population of New Hampshire but 5 times as much land, that might have something to do with it. While there are certainly more factors to consider, it’s interesting that the population density difference is almost exactly 2.5 times higher in New Hampshire, 64/sqm vs 153.
