Anyone asking about the overly conservative and very predictable offensive game plan and play calling?

It’s one thing when you’re up 4+ minutes and another when you’re the one who’s down but continuing to talk about the race not being over, caring more about yellow than defending 2nd place, etc.

Seemed like he wasn’t going to pull Jonas to a potential stage win if Jonas wasn’t going to even try.

Pretty obviously it was to show that he still had gas left in the tank. It wasn’t even a particularly hard attack (didn’t get out of the saddle) and built a 9 second gap. When Jonas attacked he couldn’t even drop Onley.

At 5k he wasn’t going to catch O’Connor so what would’ve been the point? He made the point in his interview that there was no cooperation in the valley so they lost a lot of time when Ben attacked, and once the teams caught back up Visma didn’t push the pace either.

Listen to Pogi’s post race interview. Clearly had gas left in the tank and wanted to go for the stage, but circumstances in the race didn’t allow him to go for it without unnecessary risk. Probably could’ve put a couple of minutes into Jonas today if he’d wanted to.
